Lying

Do people ever give enough thought to how their lies affect people and the various consequences perpetrated by the lies they tell? Lies destroy lives in so many ways.  A lie is uttered, wrongful actions usually follow and the victim or victims as the case may be, end up expending enormous time, energy and money to garner and compile facts to rectify the lies. But even when the lies come into light for everyone to see, the damage has been done.  And it's extremely difficult and time consuming, to right the wrongs and change the direction set into motion by the lies. Truth must always prevail against lies.  The consequences brought about through lying should not be allowed to linger.  Swift, decisive actions are mandated to prevent the prolonged agony from the weight of lying.

Caring for Children

Is it ever alright to scream and yell at a child?  I see it all the time around me.  The children cringe and tense up in fear.  This can't be good for their physical or psychological development.  I find that a stern voice and a change in your demeanor followed by a calm discussion of why the behavior was wrong, works to foster understanding. When it comes to rearing children perhaps it's the adult's responsibility to: Nurture, Love, Protect, Guide and Respect.  They're children in the process of growing up.  We can't expect them to know everything nor punish them for simply exploring their curiosity and sense of adventure.   As adults we don't know everything.  Evolving into becoming better human beings involves experience, learning, education and instruction. I think that the journey should be constructive and fun for all... For further clarification please see:  https://mantracare.org

Bicycle Lanes

Why is it that we now have bicycle lanes throughout the city and seldom if at all do you see anyone using them.  Perhaps the space allotted could have paved the way for emergency stops. Then I was wondering what time, equipment, manpower and expense was involved in painting bicycles with directional arrows on city streets.  Very seldom have I seen any bike riders using the city streets.  But when I have, they don't seem to follow the rules of the road.  The gas pedal and pedal power don't seem to be well suited for sharing the roadway.
